Heihe University Confucius Institute Scholarship
I. Eligibility and Enrollment Category
Master of Chinese International Education, one academic year’s Chinese research study + Master of International Education, research study for one academic year and research study for one semester. The targets of enrollment are non-Chinese nationality in good health and age, generally between 16-35 years old (the teachers of Chinese can be up to 45 years old).
1. Master of Chinese International Education
• Outstanding students of Confucius Institute (Confucius Classroom);
• Overseas Chinese teachers;
• Outstanding persons of HSK exam;
• Outstanding persons who participates in various Chinese Proficiency (HSK) exams organized by Hanban or Confucius Institute Headquarters;
• Prize winner of "Chinese Bridge" world university students, high school students, students studying abroad;
• Outstanding students in major of Chinese of Foreign Universities;
2. Research study for one academic year + Master of International Education
• Provided for Africa and Latin America Confucius Institute students, who are interested in engaging in the work of Chinese language teaching;
• Signed agreement with the Confucius Institute or other proposed units, with a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification, HSK score is not less than Grade 3, HSKK score is primary or plus;
• The students are able to pursue master degree in Chinese International Education in China, if he/she got HSK grade 5 or more than 180 points before the end of the first academic year;
• Hanban will provide the supports for graduates who return their counties for teaching (recruited as native Chinese teachers and giving wage subsidies)
3. One academic year’s research students
• Confucius Institute (Confucius Classroom) Outstanding students;
• Overseas Chinese teachers;
• Outstanding person of HSK exam;
• Outstanding persons who participates in various Chinese Proficiency (HSK) exams organized by Hanban or Confucius Institute Headquarters;
• Prize winner of "Chinese Bridge" world university students, high school students, students studying abroad;
• Chinese major outstanding students of foreign Universities;
• HSK score is not less than grade 3, HSKK score is primary or plus.
4. One semester’s research students
• Confucius Institute (Confucius Classroom) Outstanding students;
• Overseas Chinese teachers;
• Outstanding person of HSK exam;
• Outstanding persons who participates in various Chinese Proficiency (HSK) exams organized by Hanban or Confucius Institute Headquarters;
• Prize winner of "Chinese Bridge" world university students, high school students, students studying abroad;

III. Finance content and standards
Registration fee, tuition fee, basic learning materials, disposable relocation, accommodation, outpatient medical services and comprehensive insurance for Foreign Students.
Standard of living:
One semester or one academic year research study, 1400 Yuan/month
Master of Chinese International Education, 1700 Yuan/month
Disposable relocation:
Study in China for one academic year (or more), 1500 Yuan/month
Study in China for one semester 1000 Yuan/month
Disposable relocation is not available for students who had been studying in China for more than six months prior enrollment.
IV. Admissions Process
1. Applicants can visit the website of Confucius Institute Scholarship, register a personal account to search for the institutions and professional information, fill out online and submit the "Confucius Institute Scholarship Application Form."
2. Authorized by Hanban, Confucius Institute from different countries (Independent Confucius Classrooms), oversea Chinese exam sites, Education and Culture Department of Chinese embassy (consulate), receiving institutions and the relative colleges where the countries do not have Confucius Institute are as the recommended institutions, will be responsible for reviewing the eligibility of local applicants and application materials, submit a recommended summary list to Hanban before April 25.
3. Receiving Institutions are responsible for reviewing the eligibilities of applicants, and submit a list of pre-admission scholarship students to Hanban on May 25.
4. Hanban will organize experts for evaluation, enroll the applicants those who meet the conditions. Scholarship winners will be published on the Scholarship website before June 15. At the same time, notify the receiving institutions and recommended agencies; notify the applicants themselves by nominating organizations.
5. Receiving institution shall pass the "Admission Notice", "Registration Information", " Visa Application Form for Foreign students studying in China " (J202 form) and other materials to the recommended agencies before the 1st of July, then forwarded to the applicants by the nominating organizations.
V. Application materials
Scholarship applicants are required to login the website, fill out the "Confucius Institute Scholarship Application Form" and attach electronic documents of following prove materials:
1. First page of Passport
2. HSK, HSKK transcript
3. Notarized highest diploma or proof of learning at school
4. Reference Letters and Letter of Commitment. Chinese major’s Students from the college where do not have Confucius Institute must attach a reference letter issued by the college principals. Master applicants in Chinese International Education must submit two reference letters simultaneously, which issued by associate professors or person has above titles( in Chinese or English), and Letter of Commitment for engaging in Chinese teaching for at least five years after graduation. ( written in Chinese and signed).
5. Applicants under 18 years are required to submit the related legal documents for custodian in China.
6. Prize winner of Undergraduate students or Middle school students of "Chinese Bridge" are required to provide a scholarship certificate. Sub-division winners of different countries are required to provide Certificate of Award and Letter of Recommendation issued by the organizers.
7. Incumbency Chinese teachers are required to submit Incumbency Certificate and reference letter issued by the working organizations.
8. Students applied for continuous learning of “One academic year’s research study+ Master of International Education" are required to submit the proposed agreement which signed with the Confucius Institute or other organizations.

VI. Admission and notification
1. Scholarship winners must arrive on time in accordance with the provisions of the receiving institutions. The scholarship will not be reserved for the students overdue unreasonably.
2. The scholarship will be disqualified for the students failed the Entry Physical Examination.
3. In accordance with the "Assessment of Annual Confucius Institute Scholarship", Master students of Chinese International Education are required to have the annual review before the end of the first academic year, can only get the scholarship for next year if meet the criteria.
